New motto for Singapore

From today's South China Morning Post:

The Lion City wants to increase its population by 30 per cent over the next 17 years to sustain economic growth and counter the problems of an ageing society, according to a white paper released...

I all for building over golf courses. Or at least filling the holes in. Converting churches into housing would get my vote too.

Couldn't agree more. Golf courses are a terribly inefficient waste of resources (both land and water), catering to a tiny segment of the population. The fewer of them around, the better. Make them public parks open to everyone free of charge, or don't make them at all.
